So about a month ago (maybe two?) I tried installing Ubuntu 16. Message Viewer Lite Serial. 10 on my dell server to which I got an error during installation saying no kernel modules were found. I ignored it and proceeded with the installation. However, after all is said and done the installation fails.
So I thought that it was just something about 16.10 that the dev's might have pushed the night before so I tried 16.04 and again; Does not work. So, I decide to wait a little to allow some time just in case ubuntu dev's 'done goofed'. Yesterday, I tried installing Ubuntu yet again and end up with the very same error.
So afterwards, I tried Debian and again; Very same error. I ended up installing CentOS7 for the time being but I really don't like CentOS7 so can someone help me figure out why this isn't working? You have alot of firmware/bios updates on that server. Make sure it's all updated in centos7. All has been updated recently (I don't know exactly when but no more than a year ago). And use another usb key if you are missing kernel modules. You could also mount an iso via the DRAC console. I've tried two different USB drives (1 sony and 1 pny) and both do the same thing.
I don't have the DRAC module installed so I can't mount the iso unless I boot from it in BIOS. And lastly, flatten the drive with gparted before you attempt another install. Will do from now on; thanks for the advice.

Installing Debian 'Jessie' 8.4 This guide is not to be a replacement of the official Debian Installer documentation, but instead be a quick walkthrough for the network installer. You can find the original documentation at Debian Installer The released debian-installer from Debian Jessie contains a kernel based on 3.16, which doesn't yet provide support for development boards used by the reference software project. For a complete enterprise experience (including support for tip-based kernel with ACPI support and additional platforms), we also build and publish a custom debian installer that incorporates a more recent kernel. Our custom installer changes nothing more than the kernel, and you can also find the instructions to build it from source at the end of this document.
